October 29, 2019 – Hospice Savannah’s Board members and Senior Leadership Team announce that Dr. Sandy Gordon-Kolb will assume the role of Hospice Savannah’s Chief Medical Director. In partnership with community physicians, she will help the rapidly evolving and expanding hospice support patients earlier in the course of their serious illness and through the end of life.
Dr. Gordon-Kolb is a Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine, is a Certified Physician Executive, and holds a Masters of Medicine Management degree. She is the Founding Director of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, and worked both as a hospice medical director and as a palliative medicine team inpatient consultant physician at UMMC and Southdale Hospital. Additionally, she has prior hospice and palliative experience in both Milwaukee, WI and Bakersfield, CA.

The team includes Dr. Laura Farless of the Steward Center for Palliative Care and Dr. Ryan Moody, who is helping support cardiac and pulmonary patients. They are joined by five other specialists, including hospice and palliative care physicians Drs. John and Angie Gerguis. Together with our nurse practitioners, these physicians will ensure both a breadth of expertise and knowledge for our clinicians, and 24/7 coverage for our patients.”
