Join me in congratulating our homecare volunteer Eve Thomas who has been awarded the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving’s Volunteer Caregiver of the Year award. Eve has been a dedicated volunteer for over six years, has made over 1,800 visits and has given over 2,400 hours of service to patients and families.
Mrs. Carter presented Eve with a $1,000 check, gilded rose and certificate at a gala dinner on October 25, 2013. Paula Hudson, our Steward Companion program coordinator, nominated Eve for the award which was presented at the new Rosalynn Carter Health and Human Sciences complex at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, GA. Paula says that when asked to take on a new patient, Eve has never turned us down, regardless of the patient’s condition, age, or location
I am so honored to work with Eve, and with all our caring volunteers and staff. Thank you for all you do.
