My gratitude to the National Elementary Honor Society members of Savannah Christian Preparatory School who led a food drive at their prospective campuses to benefit our patients and their families.
Faculty members and NEHS sponsors, Christine Wigand and Brenda Caruthers, directed students in their Spring community service project efforts as they collected snacks from the entire lower school. Boxes of juices, waters, soups, crackers, cookies and candy were collected and assembled into Easter baskets for our Hospice Inpatient Unit (HIPU) patients and their families, and for delivery to some of our Home Care patients. According to Mrs. Wigand, the drive was very successful because so many students and their families were familiar with our work in the community. They hope to continue this project on an annual basis.
