Every spring, I look forward to working with the children and youth at our annual bereavement camp, Camp Aloha. Hospice Savannah’s employees and volunteers join together to work with kids who have recently lost a loved one, by providing a weekend of therapeutic fun. It is very rewarding to see the children have some time away from their grief and enjoy spending time outdoors swimming, playing basketball and hiking in the woods. I also appreciate the time given by all of our compassionate volunteers in helping these campers on their grief journeys.
I would like to invite you to please join me on May 2-4-2014 for this year’s Camp Aloha as a volunteer and to see how you can make a difference in a child’s life. Click here to fill out a volunteer application. Volunteer training is required for all new volunteers and is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Community Education Room at Hospice Inpatient Unit (HIPU). Our next camp is May 2-4, 2014; I look forward to seeing you there!
